Distributional notes
Heesch et al. (2012: 225) could not confirm the presence of this species in New Zealand and note that since in their study only specimens from southeastern South Island and Chatham Islands were included, it is not clear whether other populations outside their sampling range may contain R. polyrhiza, or whether all earlier collections of R. australis have been misidentified. - (23 Apr 2012) - Wendy Guiry
