Taxonomic note
Although G. Feldmann (1945: 55-56) and Børgesen (1950: 44-44) considered this entity to be conspecific with Botryocladia skottsbergii, Littler & Littler (2003: 293) found only non-intergrading, discrete populations in the wild. Botryocladia kuckuckii consistently has only one vesicle per stalk and one stalk per holdfast, whilst B. skottsbergii usually has several stalks holdfast and several vesicles arising from branched stalks. - (11 May 2006) - G.M.
