The largest fragment in the collection was sequenced and this sequence was identical to the lectotype sequence of Lithothamnion colliculosum f. pusillumshown to be a heterotypic synonym of L. glaciale (Peña et al., 2021: 10). - (05 August 2021) - G.M. Guiry
Illegitimate: According to Woelkering et al. (2005: 306) Lithothamnion glaciale f. subfastigiata is a superfluous substitute name for Lithothamnion varians f. varians. Additional data — Woelkerling 1993: 234." - (17 August 2015) - M.D. Guiry
