Type locality: "In Kent's Islands, near New Holland. Mr. Brown." [Kent Group Islands, Bass Strait, Australia] (Turner 1809-1811: 52). Holotype: R. Brown; BM (ex K) (Womersley 1987: 384). Notes: Womersley (1987: 384) notes that there are isotypes in BM and E.
