Type locality: "King George's Sound" [Western Australia] (Turner 1811-1819: 77, 78). Type: Mr Brown [Robert Brown]; BM Herb. Turner Notes: Womersley (1984: 297) gives the type locality as “Nouvelle-Hollande, sur une vénus” which is clearly incorrect.
