This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Pneophyllum myriocarpum (P.Crouan & H.Crouan) Y.M.Chamberlain.

Taxonomic note
It exists also Melobesia myriocarpa (Foslie) Foslie 1898, with Basionym Lithothamnion myriocarpum Foslie 1897, but it was illegitimate: not Melobesia myriocarpa P. Crouan & H. Crouan 1867.
