Type locality: Cape of Good Hope, South Africa (Clarkston & Saunders 2012: 51). Lectotype: tetrasporophyte: Harvey; LD 090097 (Clarkston & Saunders 2012: 51).
Named for William Henry Harvey (1811-1866), Irish Botanist, collector and traveller.
