Type locality: Kvivig, Faeroe Is (Womersley 1994: 48). Type: on "Conferva rupestris". C (Womersley 1994: 48). Notes: Dawson (1953: 32) notes holotype not designated, but represented by Lyngbye's original specimen in the Botanical Museum, University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
