This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Harveylithon samoënse (Foslie) A.Rösler, Perfectti, V.Peña & J.C.Braga

Lectotype locality: Satana, Savai'i Island, Western Samoa (Chamberlain & Irvine 1994: 126). Lectotype: Reichinger; July 1905; TRH A2-111, includes slides 1099 (missing), 1100 and 1101; designated by Woelkerling, 1993, 193 (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 36). Notes: Paratype: PC unnumbered, Thuret-Bornet Herbarium (box collection, filed under Lithothamnion decipiens). See Woelkerling (1998: 324). This type locality was first recorded by Adey & Lebednik (1967: 17)
