The type species (lectotype) of the genus Punctaria is Punctaria plantaginea (Roth) Greville.

Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Spatoglossum mageshimense (Tak. Tanaka) H.Kawai, R.Terada & T.Hanyuda.
