Type locality: Japan: Okinawa: Isobe River, Ishigaki Island (24°21'N, 124°12'E) (Kamiya, Tanaka, King, West, Zuccarello & Kawai 1999: 364). Holotype: M. Kamiya; 23.i.1998; TNS AL 45189 (Kamiya, Tanaka, King, West, Zuccarello & Kawai 1999: 364). Notes: Named for Erika Post; the type differs from that of Caloglossa continua ssp. postiae R.J. King & C.F. Puttock 1994, nom. inval.
