The type species (holotype) of the genus Polycavernosa is Polycavernosa fastigiata C.F.Chang & B.M.Xia.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Hydropuntia divergens (B.M.Xia & I.A.Abbott) M.J.Wynne.
