Taxonomic notes
Garbary (1987: 183) considers Audouinella secundata and Audouinella tenuissima to be current. He notes that Woelkerling (1973b: 576) listed Acrochaetium tenuissimum as a synonym of Colaconema secundatum, but he also draws attention to the comments of Stegenga & Kemperman (1983: 73) where they "do not follow Woelkerling's (1973b) suggestion". Silva et al. (1996: 101) cite Acrochaetium tenuissimum as a synonym of Acrochaetium secundatum and Woelkerling & Womersley in Womersley (1994:48) cite Audouinella secundata as current with Acrochaetium tenuissima as a synonym. - (31 Jul 2014) - Wendy Guiry
