The type species (holotype) of the genus Lepocinclis is Lepocinclis globulus Perty.
Status of Name
This name is currently regarded as a synonym of Lepocinclis ovum var. indica (Skvortzov) Huber-Pestalozzi.

Adjective A (Latin), pertaining to India (Stearn 1973).
