Type locality: Venezia (Venice), Italy (Silva, Basson & Moe 1996: 376). Type: Ruchinger; herb. alg. Agardh, LD 19891 (Yoshida 1998: 871). Notes: Dawson (1962: 73) notes that the type collection was made by Ruchinger. See Baldock (1976: 557).
