Type locality: Skjørn [now Stjørna], Selnes, Trondheimsfjord, Norway (Woelkerling 1998: 339). Lectotype: collector not indicated; 20.vii.1894; no habitat data on type. TRH B22-2727, includes slide 144 and two unnumbered slides; designated by Woelkerling, 1993: 71 (Woelkerling et al. 2005: 368). Notes: Isolectotype: PC, Foslie no. 5, Thuret-Bornet Herbarium (box collection, filed under Lithothamnion dehiscens).
