Nomenclatural note
The epithet was formed to reflect the species' occurrence on the kelp Durvillaea, which Lindauer spelled "Durvillea" and he used the spelling for the epithet "durvilleae" [genitive case]. The original spelling employed for Bory for the kelp genus was "Durvillaea", but there is no provision in the ICN for altering of Lindaeur's original orthography. - (18 March 2017) - M.D. Guiry
