Distributional notes
Specimens from the northeast Pacific that had been identified as G. cornea, based on morphology, were shown by Gabrielson (2008), based on molecular sequencing of the same specimens, to be misidentified species of Prionitis from the northeast Pacific. There is no evidence that G. cornea was or is present in the northeast Pacific. This name should not be applied in the northeast Pacific unless specimens are sequenced and shown to be conspecific with northwest Pacific G. cornea. - (21 Mar 2011) - Paul Gabrielson

This is a marine species.
