Origin of species name
Adjective (Latin), pale, sallow, yellow-green, grey-green (Smith & Lockwood 1933).

This is a freshwater species.
Type locality: Latvia: Prov. Vidzeme, in brackischen Küstentümpelen Rigaschen Meerbusens (Skuja 1939: 47). Notes: According to Thessen, Patterson & Murray (2012: 16), "This species was described by Skuja from brackish water in the Gulf of Riga, Spain". The type locality is in fact in the Gulf of Riga, Latvia.
