Type locality: Puerto Refugio, Isla Ángel de la Guarda, Baja California Norte, Mexico Holotype: E.Y. Dawson; Jan. 27, 1940; Ephyphytic on Gelidium, rocky shore. AHF Dawson 218a-40 (slides 026-028) (Dawson 1953: 26). Notes: Dawson (1944: 255) notes that the type is located in Herb. AHF (no. 16).
